A foundation course is a one-year preparation course, designed for international students, which leads to undergraduate programmes in the UK. Foundation programmes are for school-leavers who have studied a non-British curriculum but wish to pursue a degree at a UK university. Foundation courses act as a bridge between a student's current qualifications and their desire degree; they will give you all the confidence you need and help you to enhance your academic skills to move smoothly towards your chosen degree. Access courses are built to help students top up their academic knowledge before starting their bachelor degree.
For some subject areas, students need to have their English language or mathematical skills assessed, to determine the length of the course (from two semester up to four semester). If English is not the student's first language, it is mandatory that they attend something called ELP (English Language Preparation) to help the student with their academic programme.
undergraduate degree (also called first degree, bachelor's degree or simply Adegree) is an academic degree taken by a person who has completed undergraduate courses. It is usually offered at an institution of higher education, such as a university.
